For a time-consuming activity like hiking, it’s essential to weigh out your options. Choosing the right hiking spot can make or break your relaxing time.

In this video, we’ll look at five more hiking spots you should consider trying in the United States.

1. Nugget Falls Trail in Tongass National Forest

Tongass National Forest is just within the vicinity of the Mendenhall Glacier. It’s a paradise for nature lovers with many animals like bald eagles, sockeye salmon, and black bear cubs you’ll have a hard time finding in other places.

Although there are options for visitors to simply go on a quick stroll, the Nugget Falls Trail is a hiking trail that’s fairly easy to go through. It spans more than 700 miles, but a 10-20 mile round-trip hike is already rewarding. Dense forests, meadows, caves, boardwalk trails, and swampy bogs make Nugget Falls Trails a destination worth visiting.

2. Burroughs Mountain Hike in Mount Rainier National Park

Burroughs Mountain Hike in Mountain Rainier National Park is home to one of the most iconic mountains in the World. Although it might be overwhelming to climb the summit of a mountain that’s 14,410 feet above sea level and end up face-to-face with the clouds, you don’t need to do that to enjoy the trail.

With more than 260 miles of maintained trails, there are plenty of other things like old-growth forests, river valleys, meadows, and plenty of animals to observe.

3. Halema’uma’u Trail in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes make for an interesting hike because of their extreme persona and the difference in energy they radiate. In Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, you’ll find yourself in a once-in-a-lifetime experience face to face with the great volcanoes of Hawaii.

Halema’uma’u Trail is one of several trails in the national park, but it’s one of the best options. It’s a 1-mile hike that descends 425 feet at Kilauea Caldera’s southern edge. You’ll have to go through a rainforest before reaching the trail’s end.

4. Charlies Bunion Hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Charlies Bunion Hike is located in one of the best places in the World when it comes to animal and plant life diversity. Great Smoky Mountains National Park spans Tennessee and North Carolina, and it’s sprawling with mountains to hike and explore.

With the park having a “Hike the Smokies” challenge, there are things you can try to add an extra layer to the challenge of hiking a trail. Charlies Bunion takes you through views of waterfalls and old-growth forests.

5. Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim Trail

Hiking a trail is arguably the most famous Canyon in the World, and the most frequented National Park in the United States is already an achievement in itself.

This trail stretches approximately 13 miles and lasts from the South Kaibab Trailhead and west to Hermits Rest. It’s one of the most popular hike destinations in the park, and this is because it’s generally flat, but it still provides you with a great view of the Grand Canyon and Colorado River.
