Having brunch should be considered a special occasion. If you’re a weekender who wants to indulge in the best that Manhattan can give, you came to the right place!

We’ve compiled five out of the hundreds of amazing spots that Manhattan can offer to ensure that your brunch is as memorable as it is delicious!

Lafayette

From the comfortable leather booths to the bustling blue and white tile motif, Lafayette perfectly captures the ultimate bistro style that Andrew Carmellini seeks to replicate. Lafayette’s brunch menu offers fancy, indulgent options such as the Croque madame or a juicy brisket burger comte to a lighter brunch staple of lemon ricotta pancakes.

Lafayette’s food and service are top-notch, and you should leave room for their exquisite pastries!

Bessou

Having Japanese-style brunch is probably not something you’d expect to have in the middle of Manhattan, but that’s exactly what Bessou specializes in. Every single dish on their menu has some semblance of familiarity while still retaining its uniqueness at the same time. The shakshuka of eggs on top of a Japanese curry instead of a tomato-based sauce tastes impeccable, and the banana hotcakes with black sesame, black sugar syrup, and miso caramel ice cream are a crowd favorite!

Don’t be afraid to experiment and give Bessou a try.

ABC Kitchen

Some people can’t afford to gorge plates of calorie-rich food in their mouths during weekends for brunch, and if you’re one of those people—ABC Kitchen has your back. Although they have an extensive menu that includes calorie-intensive dishes like a juicy cheeseburger and buttermilk pancakes, they also have lighter options like peekytoe crab toast and baked eggs with broccolini, smoked fontina, and dill!

ABC Kitchen is a famous spot, but if you can’t wait for a few minutes for a table, you can still go to ABC Cocina and ABC as backup restaurants!

Amy Ruth’s

Amy Ruth’s is a Harlem staple known as the place to go for fried chicken and waffles. Their extensive menu full of soul food and dishes named after famous figures has gained them quite a reputation. If you want to be comfortable at a laid-back eatery, Amy Ruth’s should be at your list.

The Al Sharpton crunchy fried chicken and waffles are a classic that you should try out the first time you visit Amy Ruth’s!

Agave

For weekenders who want to chow down on several plates full of food without breaking the bank, Agave is the place to go. Serving a 90-minute $30 bottomless brunch option until 4 PM on Sundays, Agave has been hailed as the king of brunches for those who don’t mind being on a time limit while eating.

Be sure to book at least a week in advance if you plan on going to Agave, as seats are limited and constantly full. Their lobster Benedict and huevos rancheros are what you should be looking out for during your visit!
