The pandemic paused the growth of cocktail bars for a while. But luckily, life in New York is back to normal, and many establishments have taken this chance.

From new bars by nightlife veterans to entirely new areas with fresh concepts, we’ll list five new cocktail bars you should consider visiting in this video.

1. Martiny’s

Fresh from the closing of Angel’s Share, head bartender Takuma Watanabe decided to keep the culture going by opening up his cocktail bar: Martiny’s.

You get what you would expect for Japanese bars, like the detail-oriented service, and you also get to chance upon a rare collection of Japanese whiskies.

2. Pebble Bar

Pebble Bar is one of the most frequented of the newly opened bars in the area. They have new innovative cocktails alongside classics, but they also have a great ambiance to complement everything.

They opened in February of this year, but the building has had a deep history of notable people thanks to Hurley’s, a former watering hole that used to occupy it.

3. Temple Bar

Temple Bar was once referred to as the “downtown” Bemelmans. It may have closed down due to unfortunate circumstances, but it’s finally back after a group of nightlife veterans decided to revive it.

Aside from the ones you’d expect, like martinis and Coladas, their Blue Negroni and Purple Panther are great additions to their menu.

4. The Ninesr

Home to many patrons that enjoy the ambiance thanks to the live music and more toned-down atmosphere, The Nines is located just above Acme, another famous nightlife spot.

Make sure to wear proper dinner attire as they observe a dress code.

5. El Pingüino

El Pingüino is a cozy lounge that’s perfect for a night out. Their cocktail bar is complemented perfectly by their selection of oysters, mussels, and other seafood options.

Happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. is a good time to visit because martinis are on a discount and the oysters are 50% off.

Is there a cocktail bar you’re considering to visit on the list above? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section – we’d love to hear them!
