From hearty soup that fills up the soul to clear, palate-cleansing soup that elevates your dining experience, soup is one of the most underrated parts of a meal.

For this video, we’ll look at five satisfying soup shops in the city that never sleeps.

1. Calle 191 Pescaderia’s

Starting this list with one of the more unique soups out there; for those that don’t know what an Asopao is, it’s a Cuban take on a rice and seafood soup.

Both hearty and full of flavor, Asopao is a life-changing soup once you get to try it. Especially if the Asopao you’ll get to try is the one from Calle 191 Pescaderia.

2. Mokyo’s Gumbo

Not many soups can beat a good gumbo, and that’s exactly what we get and more from Mokyo’s.

Mokyo’s Gumbo is a great soup. It isn’t the usual Gumbo as it has hints of spices inspired by Korean culinary flavors.

3. Karczma’s Pickle Soup

Truly a palate cleanser, Karczma’s Pickle Soup is another one of the more unique soups on the list.

If your preference is a slightly acidic soup that isn’t as heavy as most soups, then this one is for you.

4. Margon’s Chicken Soup

Finally. A classic. Margon’s Chicken Soup is exactly what you’d want from a chicken soup and more. Its dense, flavorful broth, alongside chunks of potato and chicken slices, definitely makes it the top 5.

5. Smyth Tavern’s Roasted Corn Soup

Last but definitely not least is a soup you probably haven’t heard of but still makes sense. Not everyone has had roasted corn soup, but we’re sure everyone wants to at least try it.

If you think about it, the smoky, grilled flavor in a smooth, warm bowl of sweet, peppered goodness makes it one of the best soups to have been thought of in recent years.

Which of these soups would you like to try? Is there a soup you’d want to recommend? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section – we’d love to hear them!
