Incredible movies are coming out yearly, and 2023 is no exception.
For this video, we’ll be taking a look at five movies coming out in 2023 we can’t wait to see.
1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
First on this list is a movie that shouldn’t even be here. Initially slated for release in late 2022, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was moved to 2023 instead.
With a recurring cast, an even deeper plot, and even bigger expectations, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse aims to further solidify the appreciation for animated movies.
2. Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is one of Disney’s most successful animated movies to have been made. Parents who’ve grown up with the animated movie are just as excited as the kids! Millions of kids have been inspired by Ariel’s story, and the live-action portrayal by Halle Bailey is hoping to do that for the next generation of children.
3. Dune: Part Two
Similar to the critical acclaim and praise Into The Spider-Verse got when it first hit the cinemas, Dune was a huge success considering how large the expectations were for the series. The second part looks to cement the film adaptation’s success, and fans are excited about it. Dune Part 2 looks to pivot towards Paul Atreides uniting with the Fremen as he seeks revenge against the people who destroyed his family.
4. Barbie
Living out your inner childhood through live-action adaptations seems to be the trend for 2023, and Barbie starring Margott Robbie and directed by Greta Gerwig, plans to add to that. Barbie’s adaptation is interesting as she’s never had a human face to represent her on screen.
The film definitely took its time, initially being announced by Universal Pictures in 2009 and slowly beginning development in April 2014. However, due to several writer and director changes and a complete overhaul of the initial cast, it took 14 years for the movie to it finally come to life.
5. Creed
Last but definitely not least is surprisingly one of the best franchise extensions of this decade. Nobody expected Creed to have its own magic and find its way to steer away from Rocky’s shadow as it did with the second movie.
Now, with their upcoming third installment, we explore a different side of Adonis Creed after success inside the ring as his life takes a twist of events, introducing one of his forgotten friends, played by Jonathan Majors, on screen.
