As the melting pot of culinary excellence, New York City has everything you’d expect them to have and more.

In this video, we’ll look at 5 Palestinian Restaurants in the Big Apple.

1. Tanoreen

First on this list is Tanoreen, a Middle Eastern restaurant that opened up in 1998. From a simple deli, it became one of the best restaurants with fine-dining service without the price tag.

Their years of experience have upped the quality of all their dishes. Try out the kibbeh, sujok, and their mousaqa, a casserole made with assorted vegetables.

2. Oasis

Having opened more than 20 years ago, Oasis is already an institution in Williamsburg. Their classic falafels and shawarma are must-tries.

However, if you want something else, you can also try their mousakah and flaky hand pies.

3. Qanoon

With a name that means grill in Arabic, Qanoon is the place to head to if you want to try out mahshi, an assortment of vegetables stuffed rice.

Their Makloubeh, a lamb and eggplant casserole with yogurt sauce, is also quite underrated.

4. Ayat

Having been open for only more than a year, one wouldn’t expect Ayat to have the same service that it has. Ayat is part of a chain of palestinian restaurants that are scattered throughout the tri-state area.

Their strong points are definitely the home-style dishes. From kebabs to lamb shanks, Ayat has a variety of good dishes.

5. King of Falafel and Shawarma

If you claim to be king, you better be good enough to prove it. Luckily for King of Falafel and Shawarma, this is truly the case.

Their iconic falafel and shawarma began with a food truck in 2002, eventually opening up a permanent brick-and-mortar location in 2015. Their cart is still up and running, usually around East 53rd Street and Park Avenue.
