COVID has ruined everyone’s expectations for Network T.V. this 2020. A majority of the good shows are only animated projects that could continue production throughout quarantine when filming weren’t.

However, there is no need to fret because Netflix has everyone’s backs as they continue to remain a constant source of new entertainment every week. As October rolls in, we’ll be seeing an abundance of original T.V. shows that will debut and are highly anticipated by viewers all over.

In this article, we’ll be listing down 6 T.V. shows arriving on Netflix this October that you most definitely will be enjoying.

The first on our list is an anthology series. Social Distance is a darkly comedic perspective looking into people’s needs to stay connected to one another.

Social Distance features Scandal star Guillermo Diaz, Mike Colter from Evil, Isabella Ferreira from Love, Victor, and Danielle Brooks from Orange Is the New Black. This unique and new approach of T.V. shows in stark contrast to what appeals typically to T.V. viewers, but they seemingly already got tired of.

Emily in Paris

October 2

Rolling right around the corner as of the time of this article being written is a new drama-comedy featuring star Lily Collins known for her roles in The Mortal Instruments, The Last Tycoon, and of course, Love, Rosie. This television series is created by Darren Star, the mastermind behind Beverly Hills 90210 and Sex and the City.

Emily, in Paris, is a fish-out-of-water tale that sees Emily, a girl from Midwest America who takes a job opportunity in Paris. She faces a lot of challenges, especially the culture shock that comes with moving to a whole new world.

We already know how amazing an actor Lily Collins is, and we’ve seen what she can do with a good story, so Emily in Paris definitely could be an excellent choice for spending your quarantine hours.

Song Exploder

October 2

Also coming out on October 2, this Television show is based on an amazing podcast created and hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway, with the same name. It brings an in-depth exploration of music to the small screen and is directed by 20 Feet from Stardom director Morgan Neville.

Song Exploder’s first season will be diving directly into the creative process behind the production of hit songs like Lin Manuel Miranda’s “Wait for it.” in Hamilton, Alicia Key’s “3 Hour Drive,” Ty Dolla $igns “L.A.,” an all-time favorite R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion.”

Hrishikesh Hirway is known for getting the greatest stories out of his guests, and so we should be expecting quite a lot from this Netflix Original.

Deaf U

October 9

Deaf U is a documentary series that centers around a group of deaf students at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C., a private college that is specifically for those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Although the show doesn’t really feel as different from other reality shows with the same type of nature, the subject matter makes it stand out from the rest.

This interesting and informative show should be intriguing enough to keep everyone in their seats as the show progresses, and we see how they handle all the stereotypical “talking head” shows that are painfully common in documentary-style series’.

The Cabin with Bert Kreischer

October 13

Bert Kreischer, stand-up comedian and travel T.V. celebrity who is known for his previous Netflix stand-up specials, but this next project is a completely different tone from the usual ones.
