Queens always has a joint popping up ever-so often, and many of them turn out to be really good places to dine at. In this video, we’ll look at five new restaurants you should visit in Queens.

When In Bangkok

First on this list is a restaurant that stands out in Murray Hill’s strip dominated by Korean restaurants. When Bangkok serves great, modern Thau Food such as their bundle of pad thai noodles wrapped in a light omelet and their Zabb wings flavored by Thai chiles and herbs.

Mahsil

With plenty of Korean restaurants popping up after the boom of their country’s influence on many, Mahsil opened up with the idea of becoming a unique Korean joint. Instead of the usual Korean dishes you’d expect, Mahsil has an inventive take on the gastropub.

From Korean-style pizzas like their bulgogi pizza to other dishes like their calamari fries, and of course some classics like their Korean-style Chicken.

Shoo Loong Kan

Shoo Loong Kan isn’t an entirely new restaurant, but it’s the first one in Queens. This hot-pot joint is part of more than 800 restaurants worldwide and is worth a try.

Their Sichuan hot pot experience, the amazing signature chili broth that’s part of their three-flavor pot, and the variety of toppings make for a great hot pot and ultimately a great destination to try out.

Cafe Turkiye

As you can already guess, Cafe Turkiye is a Turkish cafe located in Astoria. The place is lined with comfy pillows and intricate mosaic tiles, making for a great stay. The food on the other hand, is even better, the reason why you’d probably want to visit it again after the first time.

Dishes like their sesame simit, spinach-and-cheese borek, and canoe-shaped pide flatbreads are must-tries.

Caresella

Italian for cherry, Carasella is a pasticceria by chef Caterina Pepe, who also owns Caravaggio in Manhattan. When visiting, you should try their sfogliatella, a delicate hundred-layered pastry dusted with confectioner’s sugar and hot custard.
