Chinese food is always great comfort food, and it can’t get better anywhere else than in Chinatown. This is the right video if you’re looking to dine at one of the oldest, most famous, and best tasting spots in Chinatown.

1. New York Bo Ky

First on this list is New York Bo Ky. It’s a Teochew restaurant that’s back after temporarily closing down due to the pandemic. They specialize in soups and noodles, and there’s a number to choose from. Chi Vy Ngo owns it, making visiting Baxter Street worth it.

Flavorful shrimp, pork, beef, and eggs on noodles topped with deep broth and the signature chili oil make for a great experience.

2. Fried Dumpling

Fried Dumpling is hidden in an obscure part of Chinatown in one of its oldest areas. They’re a simple yet always crowded stall because of just how affordable their menu is. They opened up in 1999 on the Lower East Side and have been serving amazing potstickers, vegetarian dumplings, and a hearty sweet and sour soup.

Be it a hearty meal or a quick snack to chow down on, and Fried Dumpling is a great choice when you’re by the area.

3. Nom Wah Tea Parlor

Fluffy pork buns, pork and shrimp shumai, rice noodle rolls, and taro cakes are just some of Nom Wah Tea Parlor’s great-tasting food that has cemented it as one of the staples of Dim Sum in New York.

It opened almost a century ago but was recently revived by Wilson Tang. However, the aesthetics look and feel the same—providing a 1950s diner atmosphere with dozens of people lining up outside.

4. Uncle Lou’s

The lo wah kiu, also known as old-timers, are must-tries. Specializing in Cantonese cuisine, Uncle Lou’s elevates traditional Cantonese dishes and takes them up a notch with their focus on flavor and quality ingredients. From their homestyle-cooked ducks, vegetarian tofu, and other soulful meals, Uncle Lou’s is definitely worth the visit.

5. Great NY Noodletown

The last but definitely not least on our list with a name like this screams authentic, flavorful Chinese food. If you’re looking for staples like roasted ducks, whole fried fish, noodles and soups, this restaurant is one to consider.

Great NY Noodletown has been featured in the NY Times, and it’s known as a late-night go-to by many.
