New York City is already an r place, but these five spots are places you won’t believe are in the city that never sleeps.

Starting with number 1:

1. The Met Cloisters

You’d expect many things from New York, but a medieval castle amid skyscrapers is one of the most unlikely you’d expect.

The Met Cloisters is a part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to European Art History, located at 99 Margaret Corbin Drive.

2. Villa Charlotte Bronte

Speaking of European History, Villa Charlotte Bronte, inspired by the Italian Villas of old. From its beautiful architecture to the lush gardens and the view overlooking a serene body of water, it’s a place that looks like it doesn’t belong in New York City.

3. Island Oyster

Nothing beats the sea breeze coming in from the Hudson river, a gorgeous view of skyscrapers, and the feel of a tropical vacation altogether. Island Oyster is located at 146 Carder Rd., Governors Island.

4. The Morgan Library

Libraries with an aesthetic like these are more likely to be found in Europe than in New York. The Morgan Library contains almost all the things well-known American financier and banker J.P. Morgan.

From feels like one of the ancient libraries of the 1800s in Europe, and it can pass as one thanks to the plethora of rare music manuscripts, children’s books, and other historical pieces.

5. Stone Street

Last but not least is a spot located in the Financial District that feels like it’s taken straight from the movies. From the cobblestones to the orange lights and the buildings in the backdrop, it’s closer to a movie set than an actual place.
