K-Pop has taken over the world, and it can be difficult to decide which of the hundreds of Girl Groups is top 5 all time.

For this video, we’ll take on that challenge by listing down our 5 K-Pop Girl Groups of All Time in no particular order.

1. Blackpink

K-Pop fan or not, it’s pretty much guaranteed that everyone who listens to the radio or has a social media account has heard at least one song from Blackpink.

In less than a decade, this iconic girl group was able to be: The first K-Pop girl group to have over a billion views for a music video on youtube, be the highest-charting female K-Pop group on the Billboard Hot 100 and have all four of their members be highly sought-out endorsers for a lot of brands.

2. 2NE1

2NE1, in their time, was at the top of the game for K-Pop Girl Groups. If it weren’t for the unfortunate disbanding that happened after Minzy decided to leave the group, they would have achieved more than their already extremely successful status.

The group was able to sell 66 million records in an era when K-Pop wasn’t as big, and all of them were able to have decent solo careers.

3. Girls Generation

Girl’s Generation is an iconic Girl Group that paved the way for K-Pop to be what it is today. They’re often credited as the girl group that was finally able to hit big on the global stage.

They were extremely talented and entertaining and barely had any holes in their group. It shouldn’t be any question that Girl’s Generation, The Nation’s Girl Group, is part of this list.

4. Twice

It would be a mistake not to have Twice on this list. After their hit single Cheer Up in 2016, they set themselves on track to be one of the best in the industry.

Some people, especially in South Korea, would put Twice over Blackpink as the best Girl Group ever, which is no surprise. TWICE is the highest-selling girl group in South Korea in terms of physical sales, and they’re also a hit in Japan.

5. Red Velvet

Red Velvet is on this list for many reasons, but one that stands out is their guts and willingness to be experimental. Despite being unique, they still found a way to be successful and a constant presence at the top of the Korean music charts.
