Trips should always be worthwhile. Every time you visit a place, it has to be worth it.

For this video, we’ll look at one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Here are six reasons to visit Brooklyn’s Williamsburg.

1. Bedford Avenue

First on this list is the first stop in Brooklyn on the L train. Bedford Avenue is a convenient spot to stop by when heading to Williamsburg and is filled with shops, restaurants, bars, and other entertaining spots.

2. History

Undeniably, history is almost always the primary reason why we visit a place, and Williamsburg is no exception. Originally named Lenape land when it was bought by the Dutch in 1638, it was once filled with farms. As is with most old settlements, goods were being shipped from Williamsburg to Manhattan through the East River, which was essential.

There are plenty of historic spots to visit such as the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center which was once the Kings County Savings Bank, Power Street Mosque, one of the oldest Mosques in the United States, and the Williamsburg Savings Bank.

3. Williamsburg Bridge

Old bridges are always iconic, and the Williamsburg Bridge is also one of them. It serves as the alternative bridge for the Brooklyn Bridge and helps you avoid the thousands and possibly millions of tourists crossing the latter.

Taking a walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn through the Williamsburg Bridge is a great way to relax and unwind.

4. City Reliquary Museum

As the name suggests, the City Reliquary Museum is home to plenty of relics. There’s plenty to explore from old subway tokens to postcards and other cultural ephemera in this Williamsburg spot.

However, it’s only open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to six in the evening. Plan your trip well, and make sure to include it in your list.

5. Smorgasburg

Smorgasburg is a quirky name for the spot, but there’s no name more fitting. Known as the “Woodstock of eating”, Smorgasburg is home to hundreds of vendors since 2008. It started out as an extension of the Brooklyn Flea market but eventually became its own thing with pop-ups all over the world.

6. Nitehawk Cinema

If you’re into movies, Nitehawk Cinema is a must-visit. You can enjoy both Hollywood and indie films in this cinema alongside amazing food and drinks.

Unlike most cinemas where the food is always a second thought, Nitehawk Cinema takes pride in their dishes just as much as their film selection.
