Greece is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world. There’s plenty to explore from turquoise waters to white sand beaches and ancient ruins.

In this video, we’ll be listing down 5 spots to visit while in Greece in 2023.

1. Athens

Starting off this list strong, it’s undeniable that Athens is a must-visit. Athens is credited to be the heart of where Western civilization was founded and also the heart of Greek history and mythology.

It’s not just a name, either. It’s filled with numerous significant spots like the Temple of Zeus and the Parthenon. This is the spot for you if you’re into Greek mythology or history. As for shopping, dining, and strolling around, it’s also made easy thanks to years of tourism, and the locals are very welcoming and used to it.

2. Knossos

Speaking of history, Knossos, formerly called Crete, is probably second to Athens in terms of that. The ruins of Knossos have a plethora of bronze-age relics.

From familiar stories like the Labyrinth and the Minotaur, to the Minoan palace, there’s plenty to explore in this spot.

3. Santorini

Santorini is known as the diamond of the Aegean. The island, facing the south side of the Aegean Sea, is known for its beautiful sunsets and volcanic beaches.

The architecture of the buildings around it, which the locals have strived hard to preserve and keep harmonious, is also one of its highlights.

4. Delphi

Delphi was once the religious center of Greece. Located in Mount Parnassus, it’s a place where brave men, heroes, and even kings seek to hear the words and wisdom of the Oracle.

The Temple of Apollo is quite a feat. Despite merely being a remnant of the past, one can still feel and imagine just how important it was to ancient Greece at one point. An ancient theatre, the Athena Pronaia, and an ancient stadium is also the go-to spot.

5. Rhodes

Last but definitely not least is one of the most frequented spots in all of Greece. Rhodes is an island similar to Santorini but offers a different experience.

Rhodes has plenty to offer to people from all walks of life. From the mighty Colossus 5-star hotels, to great dining experiences, there’s a lot to explore.

Rhodes also has the Valley of Butterflies, a spot home to millions of butterflies. August is the best time to visit as it’s the season for reproducing.
