Are you looking for fun and unusual places in New York? Then you came to the right video! Here, I’ll be talking about the places worth visiting if you’re into the more unique spots in the city.
The first one we’ll be talking about has to be the Lexington Candy Shop:
This family-owned candy store is located on Lexington Avenue and has been around for nearly a century!
When you come inside, you’ll see all sorts of movie memorabilia all along the walls. It’s a beautiful place where you can get all the candy as well as a good meal.
But despite being called a candy shop, they’re actually more of a diner—so make sure you visit with an empty stomach.
Getting into the more bizarre side of things, the next one is Tannen’s Magic Shop:
Expect to find all sorts of magical trinkets and thingamabobs like magic canes, dice, and even special magic cards! There are all sorts of other things as well, like cigarette magic, coin magic, knife magic, and even dove magic. Its doors first time opened back in 1925, so you’ll expect to see all sorts of old-school magic memorabilia.
The next one is for the more outlandish ones out there: The Museum Of Sex.
Sex museums have always been popular in Europe, even all the way back in the seventies. And, of course, they only allow access to people for 18, especially considering what kind of artifacts they exhibit. There are all sorts of antiquities—from art, movies, clothing, and even contraptions.
You’ll just have to see it yourself!
Up next is New York City’s very own Goldbar.
It’s a place for those who wanna look at all the expensive jewelry but don’t have the money for it. The place is basically a bar, but the best part is that it’s covered from wall to floor in gold. Even the portraits and the custom-made tables are made out of gold.
Just make sure to be nice to the bouncer, or you’ll be having a hard time getting in!
And lastly, you can’t be visiting unusual spots in New York if you haven’t been to The Earth Room.
So, it might be unusual for a lot of people, but what’s not exciting about a room filled with soil? The floor is a 22-inches deep layer of dirt across a 3,600-square-foot space. It’s a great place to visit if you wanna relax and breathe in the smell of soil.
It’s nice to just smell earth and detox from all the smoke and soot in a bustling city.
