When done right, fresh Sushi is one of the most satisfying dishes to have. Luckily for you, New York has some of the best Sushi places in the world.

For this video, we’ll be taking a look at 5 Sushi places you should try in New York City.

1. Sushi Noz

It isn’t a New York sushi place list if Sushi Noz doesn’t go first. This institution has solidified itself as one of the best omakase—not only in New York—but in the entire world.

Their main stay is the $400 omakase, which we highly suggest, but the $230 omakase is also quite an experience already.

2. Sushi Yasuda

Speaking of institutions, Sushi Yasuda is one of the oldest omakase in New York, and there’s a good reason why they’re still around. They aren’t as expensive as Sushi Noz, but they’re definitely worth visiting.

Their price ranges from $150 to $250, depending on the season. Because they fly their fish fresh from Japan, it’s definitely worth it.

3. Shuko

Shuko is a unique sushi place compared to some on this list. It’s an upscale service restaurant with a downtown vibe, which is quite different from most sushi places that are somber, peaceful, and humble.

It’s a place frequented by celebrities like Jay-Z and Beyonce, so that’s definitely saying something. Give the place a try; just don’t expect to see celebrities there.

4. Omakase Room by Mitsu

Omakase Room by Mitsu is known for its maguro zuke nigiri, made unique thanks to its seasoning method that brings out the tuna’s distinct flavor and slightly sweet taste. Their akami tuna and 40-day aged toro are also must-tries.

5. Takeda

Last but definitely not least is Takeda, a humble shoebox-sized omakase. Their 19-course menu is only $185 and has several dishes like salmon roe, Hokkaido scallop, iwashi, and even a Santa Barbara uni. It’s a place to visit for people looking to experience the most without emptying their pockets.

What about you? Which of these Sushi places are you feeling? Is there any other sushi place in New York you’d want to recommend? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section – we’d love to hear them!
