Emory Andrew Tate III, more commonly known as Andrew Tate, is a polarizing and controversial media personality. From seemingly nowhere, Andrew Tate found himself in the middle of superstardom as an internet personality and influencer with a definite dash of controversies.

Before worldwide fame, Andrew Tate was a former professional kickboxer with a record of 76 wins and nine losses.

His first touch with fame was in 2016 on a season of Big Brother in Britain, where he was removed from the show after only six days. The alleged reason was that a video of him hitting a woman with a belt surfaced online.

But how exactly did he go from a successful professional kickboxer to one of the most infamous influencers on the internet?

Andrew Tate’s Rise to Stardom

How would one go from a professional kickboxer with only hundreds of thousands in earnings to a certified millionaire with a self-proclaimed 33 cars? It all began in social media when his controversial views would find their way to target audiences that echoed the same sentiments.

Tate went from a pro kickboxer to the “Top G,” who would go on to mentor men and young boys with life tips mostly centered on masculinity, making money, and several polarizing ideas.

It all started with his social media accounts. Men from all over the world began following him, and the “Top G” culture soon grew.

But how exactly did he translate followers to income? Hustler’s University.

Hustler’s University is where the bulk of Tate’s income comes from. It’s a subscription-based platform where members pay around $50 a month in exchange for instructional videos on finding a way to create wealth and grow your influence.

With over a hundred thousand subscribers in August of 2022, Hustler’s University was estimated to have earned Tate at least $5 million a month.

He continued to grow his influence on several platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tiktok, where he has the most active following. He also made frequent appearances on Far-right platforms such as conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ show InfoWars.

Soon enough, his controversies would catch up to him, and he would end up being banned from YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

But why was he banned, and why did it come to that point?

Controversy Surrounding Andrew Tate

Andrew Tate’s controversies began even before he was famous. His time in Big Brother was cut short because of controversial videos that came out, and Hustler’s University was eventually forced to shut down when Stripe, the company handling their subscription processing, decided to pull out. The main reason why they pulled out is unclear, but it’s mostly because of the hundreds of allegations that Tate was facing at the time.

Speaking of hundreds of allegations, one that was most prominent was his sexual harassment cases that eventually led to people suspecting him of more controversial things. This was because of prior investigations regarding domestic abuse that Tate dealt with, but on December 29, 2022, he and his brother, alongside two women, were arrested by Romani Police for an ongoing investigation of alleged organized crime and human trafficking.

The verdict on the case is far from made, and a lot of back-and-forth investigations are still being made.

What do you think? Is Andrew Tate guilty of the allegations? Will he be imprisoned? Or will the Top G rise again and continue influencing millions of people in the world?
