If you’ve been living under a rock, it’s probably too late to inform you that Cher’s latest boyfriend is 40 years younger than her.
After months of dating, Cher and Alexander “A.E.” Edwards, have decided to break up.
For this video, we’re going to take a look at how their relationship went, and what eventually lead to the breakup.
Backgrounds
Before their relationship, Alexander Edwards, 36, music executive and rapper, was in a relationship with Amber Rose.
Meanwhile, 76-year-old Cher on the other hand had been married twice and has had two children, both of which are older than A.E. According to them, they met at Paris Fashion Week, sometime between February 28th and March 8th last year.
The Beginning of The Relationship
The relationship took a while before going public. It was only on November 6th, 2022, that Cher posted a close-up photo of Edwards on her Twitter account.
The photo was accompanied by a simple caption; just his name and a heart emoji. It didn’t take fans long before they found out who he was, and it certainly didn’t take long for a lot of negative tweets to find their way to her post.
Nevertheless, Cher shrugged them all aside.
Business and Pleasure
One of the more interesting parts of their relationship was Cher confirming that A.E. played a part in the two new albums she was working on earlier this year.
To quote, she says “I’m going to England to make two albums,” she then adds “Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that.”
Now that the two have broken up, we don’t know if we’ll ever get to hear any of it.
Controversies and Rumors
As expected sentiments that A.E. was just leeching off of her were prevalent. She responded by saying that she wasn’t born yesterday and that what she knows for sure is that there are no guarantees. She then proceeds to say “Anytime you make a choice, you take a chance. I’ve always taken chances… It’s who I am.”
One of the latest rumors before their break-up was that the two were engaged. We saw her showing off a pretty diamond ring, but they never confirmed it. What we got instead was a confirmation of their breakup.
Why They Broke Up
Unfortunately, no one really knows why the two broke up yet. The only thing we could get from sources close to the Goddess of Pop was that their break-up was amicable and there were no hard feelings.
