Every beloved piece of literature has been getting a new show or a remake, and The Wizarding World, written by J. K. Rowling, is no exception.

In this video, we’ll discuss everything we know about the Harry Potter reboot.

The Plot

The main question fans had when talks surfaced about a new Harry Potter series is what it would be about. According to an official press release from Warner Bros., the series will be a “faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series,”

According to Warner Bros., the new series will cater to both old and new fans alike, and the films will remain at the franchise’s core. This is important because although the movies have definitely been great for the most part, they did have numerous changes that differed from the story.

Who’s Running The Show?

Although J.K. Rowling is definitely going to have a significant influence in the series, she won’t be the showrunner. As of the moment, there isn’t anyone they’re strongly considering yet and they’re open to ideas, but they are “trying to be very close to the vest”, looking at it as an internal process.

How Many Seasons Can We Expect?

One would automatically assume that each season would cover an entire book, but there still isn’t any concrete information if that is the case. Warner Bros. Discovery had confirmed that they do plan for it to be a decade-long series and that the first season would mostly revolve around the first book.

However, it’s worth noting that the books’ length varies to some extent. Whether that’ll affect the number of seasons or just the number of episodes per season, we still don’t know.

Will The Original Cast Be Included?

Probably the most important question fans asked is if the original cast members, especially the three, will appear like most actors for remakes of their successful franchises like David Hasselhoff in Baywatch, Michael Keaton, and others in The Flash.

Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be any plans for that. Although Daniel Radcliffe wishes the new series good luck, he has made it clear that he has no plans to appear in the reboot. Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, has said the same. Rupert Grint, on the other hand, is more open to the idea. However, he’ll only do it if everyone else also comes back.

When Will It Be Released?

Last but definitely not least is a question we expect everyone to ask. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. Discovery has not yet released any official information with regard to the series’ timeline.

We expect that news will probably come before the end of the year and that they’ll probably have a premier in the last quarter of 2025 or the first quarter of 2026.
